ACP YPN at Commonwealth Youth Leadership Training

On 16-18 March, Yentyl Williams, ACP YPN Founder and President was invited to take part in the Commonwealth’s Youth Leadership Training 2016, at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.

Yentyl represented the ACP YPN, as the only ‘extra-Commonwealth’ network involved in the Commonwealth Youth Leadership Training. Yentyl was awarded the life title, ‘Commonwealth Champion’, by Katherine Ellis, The Commonwealth Youth Division Director for her contribution to creating a Commonwealth that is mutually respectful, resilient, peaceful and prosperous and that cherishes, quality, diversity and shared values.

Yentyl also represented ACP YPN at the Commonwealth Annual Youth Leaders’ Prize Ceremony in the opulent and historic Malborough House, home to The Commonwealth. ACP YPN congratulates the winners of the Commonwealth Youth Awards 2016 from the African, Caribbean and Pacific regions.

ACP YPN had the opportunity to begin strategic discussions with the the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE). ACP YPN stands united with CAYE regional networks (Asia-Pacific, Caribbean and Canada, and East Africa) to contribute to building an international entrepreneurial ecosystem which is youth-friendly, sustainable and inclusive.

This was a fantastic experience for ACP YPN to connect with Commonwealth youth networks, all across ACP regions and develop partnerships for sustainable development. ACP YPN highly commends the Commonwealth You Division for their proactive actions to create an enabling environment for youth and youth organisations to flourish and achieve their potential.
